Success Story


The Medical Excellence Awards (MEA) for healthcare delivery personnel was established in 2011 with the objective of honouring healthcare delivery workers both in public and private facilities from every part of the 10 Regions of Ghana who tirelessly pursue distinctive medical services that serves the larger interest of humanity. The award is purely private, free from political interference at all levels; initiated by Dr. Dauda Amidu Titus-Adandada and governed by the Medical Excellence Awards Council. The MEA is financed by sourced sponsorship from partners around the globe. A total of two thousand, five hundred and fifty nominations were received from over two hundred and fifty (250) facilities across the country.  After the very rigourous selection process, three persons each in the categories above were honoured. Thus, 24 persons were awarded during the maiden ceremony on the 27th November, 2015 at the Banquet Hall of the State House, Accra. One of the three (3) awards for the category of Pharmacists was received by Pharm. Joseph A. Kizzie-Hayford, the Deputy Director, Pharmaceutical Services, from the Directorate of University Health services, UCC.
