Overview

The Directorate of University Health Services (DUHS) comprises the University Health Services and the Environmental Health Section (EHS) of the University of Cape Coast (UCC). The Directorate is regulated by the University Health Services Committee under the Chairmanship of the Pro-Vice-Chancellor, with representatives from Academic Board, Convocation, Central Regional Health Directorate, Federation of University Senior Staff Association of Ghana (FUSSAG), Tertiary Educational Workers Union (TEWU), Graduate Students Association of Ghana (GRASAG), and Student Representative Council (SRC). The Director of the Facility chairs a seven (7) member Management Committee comprising; Deputy Director, Deputy Director Pharmaceutical Services (DDPS), Head of Environmental Health Section, Health Services Administrator, Accountant, and Nurse Manager. The Directorate is responsible for the provision of preventive, personal, environmental and public health services at the University and to the University Community, as stipulated in the University statutes. The Environmental Health Section specifically handles all environmentally related hygiene practices in the University including; cleaning, dislodging of faecal waste, spraying and fumigation services.
